Rosa, a nurse with more than two decades of service, is an institution in Chozas de Canales, a Toledo town of about 4,000 inhabitants. But this Monday she has lived, surely, one of her worst professional experiences. She has been the victim of an assault in a home when she was attending a patient around one in the afternoon. For this reason, she had to be transferred in an ambulance to the University Hospital of Toledo.
It happened at number 72 Calle Sevilla, a ten-minute walk from the doctor's office, located at number 4 Calle Austria. Rosa "was treating the patient, a brother came from the street with a knife and attacked her," according to what the mayor, Antonio Antúnez, told 'ABC'.
“I think it is the first time that something like this has happened to the staff of the medical office,” said the mayor, who does not know if the attacker has been arrested.
The attack on the nurse from Chozas de Canales occurs nine days after another in Santa Olalla, 50 kilometers away. On that occasion, a doctor and a nurse were attacked by the patient they were treating at his home.
