While fleeing from the police, a car stolen in Mellingen (Thuringia) stopped with engine damage on the A4 motorway near Ottendorf-Okrilla. The 42-year-old driver was temporarily arrested, according to the police in Görlitz. He was drugged. The owner had previously noticed his car being stolen on Wednesday morning and informed the police. The officials later noticed the car on the Autobahn near Chemnitz. They gave chase. The suspect is said to have been traveling at around 200 kilometers per hour at times and almost caused accidents, it said. Finally he stopped at the Am Eichelberg rest area. It was initially unclear whether an arrest warrant would be issued.
