Hornets injured at least 20 people with bites in a hiking area near Bad Ditzenbach (Göppingen district) on Sunday. As the police announced on Monday, three suffered serious health problems as a result of the stitches and were taken to clinics. In one case, a rescue helicopter was also deployed. Other stung people went to clinics themselves. According to the police, the animals were probably ground hornets.
