The award ceremony for the best of American cinema and television, ahead of the Oscars, simply listed the winners on social media during the evening of January 9-10, 2022. West Side Story and The Power of the Dog are the big winners on the film side, while the series winners crowned Succession. Award-winning actors include Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos), Will Smith (King Richard), Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), Ariana De Bose (West Side Story), Andrew Garfield (Tick, tick...BOOM!) or even Kodi Smit-McPhee (Power of the Dog).

The exceptional system of the Golden Globes 2022 is partly linked to the health crisis, but also to the virulent criticism that the ceremony has been the subject of for several months. In May 2021, the ceremony was the subject of fierce criticism. The Golden Globes have been accused of discrimination, sexism and lack of transparency by several stars, such as Scarlett Johansson or Tom Cruise.
