German Ice Hockey League: Eisbären Berlin lose 2:6 at Schwenninger Wild Wings

The Eisbären Berlin suffered another severe setback in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). On Wednesday evening, the German champions lost 2:6 (0:3, 1:0, 1:3) at the Schwenninger Wild Wings and slipped down to 13th place in the table. Zach Boychuk and Kevin Clark scored for the capitals, who remained too harmless in attack and again revealed defensive weaknesses. From Berlin's point of view, the only positive thing was that summer new signing Brendan Guhle, who had to sit out for months due to a concussion, was able to celebrate his DEL debut.

The 3164 spectators in the Schwenninger Arena saw a hard-fought early minutes in which the guests had good chances, but were unable to convert them. The home side were much more effective: Tylor Spink scored the lead, his twin brother Tyson Spink raised and was successful again two seconds before the first break on the power play.

After the restart, the Berliners were able to shorten the gap with a goal from Boychuk, but made too many mistakes in the build-up to put the hosts under constant pressure. In the final section, the efficient team from Schwenningen made things clear: Tyson Spink completed his hat-trick with another overtime goal. Miks Indrasis and Alex Trivellato increased the lead before Clark scored for the Polar Bears.
