Gambling: Man wins two million euros and hides ticket

Sometimes you just can't believe things you've wanted for a long time when they finally come true. A lottery player from Baden-Württemberg had a similar experience. After winning the lottery of more than two million euros, a father hid his ticket in the closet.

The over 50-year-old man from the Stuttgart area initially couldn't believe that he was now a millionaire, Lotto Baden-Württemberg wrote in a press release on Sunday.

The winner redeemed his game receipt belatedly. Now he receives the sum of 2,074,074 euros. His key to luck were the winning numbers 7, 12, 36, 37, 39 and 42. This win is not taxable.

The man had ticked six correct winning numbers in the “6 out of 49” lottery drawing on August 26th. He only missed the super number. The probability of a hit was about one in 15.5 million. It was said that the father of the family wanted to continue working first and take some time to think about what he would do with his winnings.

Gambling can be addictive. Participation in the game is permitted from 18 years of age. If gambling behavior can no longer be controlled, thoughts only revolve around gambling or if more money is lost than is available, these can be the first signs of problematic gambling behavior.
