From June 23rd to June 25th, seven national and international companies will be meeting in Vildanza

Vilches will host the second edition of Vildanza Contemporary Dance Festival, which will take place from June 23-25. Francisco Javier Lozano (deputy for promotion and tourism), Adrian Sanchez (mayor of Vilches) and Mario Bermudez (artistic co-director and dancer and choreographer), presented the event, in which seven international and national companies will perform at the Mirador de the hope. Vildanza, a tourist-cultural project of high quality, aims to make Vilches a reference for contemporary dance. Francisco Javier Lozano stated that it is a return to illusion and joy, to open-air spaces, and above all to experience first-hand the best contemporary dance at an international standard.

"We have a new, unique, fresh, and unrivalled activity in our province and Andalusia. It is an entirely new activity in the national context of contemporary dance. This is due to the unique use of public spaces that allows us to learn Vilches in a unique manner. It is also done with an extra affection and enthusiasm that will not leave anyone indifferent and attract the attention of many tourists who will visit the municipality these days," stated the deputy for promotion and tourism. He mentioned that the town forms part of two tourist products of the Province, the Route of the Castles and the Battles and the Journey to the Time of the Iberians.

Adrian Sanchez, the mayor in Vilches, has stated that the idea for this project came from Mario Bermudez from Vilche who decided to place a bet on his city. "Mario" returns to Vilches, and he gives all of his art. This happens when the love for the land is shared by both the administrations as well as the artists. A contemporary dance festival takes place at an emblematic spot in Vilches, such the Mirador de La Esperanza. Here, we have made the monument to the victims of the pandemic.

Mario Bermudez is the Vildanza artistic director. He invited dancers to Vilches for a festival that will bring together the best of national and international talent. Our town, its environment, and its corners are all very special to us. It is a rare opportunity to combine contemporary dance and nature. I urge you to attend the second edition.

Marcat Dance, an internationally renowned contemporary dance company, will be the festival's artistic director. The festival will feature two productions, Duet Alanda (Friday, June 24) and Adama (Friday, June 24). Chey Jurado's performance is scheduled for Thursday.

The festival will close on Saturday with performances by Look at Things Different, The Collective and The Red montage, Sharon Fridman and How far? Access to the festival will be available until capacity is exhausted. Each day begins at 8:30 p.m. Polo DJ Set's final party will take place at the municipal swimming pools at 11 pm.
