The new coach Thomas Reis sees FC Schalke 04 on the right track despite a dramatic negative series in the Bundesliga. The 1: 2 (0: 1) at Werder Bremen was the eighth competitive defeat in a row for the bottom of the table and the setting of a Bundesliga record of 35 away games without a win. However, due to a convincing performance on Saturday night, Reis said: "Today we showed that the team is capable of playing in the Bundesliga. Because I don't think the better team won today, but the slightly luckier one." Until the World Cup break, Schalke will be playing at FSV Mainz 05 (Wednesday) and FC Bayern Munich (Saturday) next week.
