Dynamo Dresden missed the semi-finals in the Sachsenpokal. The third division soccer team lost 1-0 (0-1) in the quarter-finals against league rivals FSV Zwickau on Wednesday evening. Jan Löhmannsröben (9th) scored the goal of the day early on in Dresden's Rudolf Harbig Stadium. The game was followed by 9763 spectators.

After the 2-1 defeat against SpVgg Bayreuth last weekend, coach Markus Anfang changed his starting XI to nine positions. Only captain Tim Knipping and Max Kulke were back on the pitch from the start. The Zwickauers, who in turn also rotated in several positions, got into the game better. Defensive player Löhmannsröben was able to convert a free kick from the right wing into an early lead. The hosts had chances to equalize with a free-kick from Max Kulke (19') and a deflected long-range shot from talented Paul Lehmann (35'). FSV goalkeeper Johannes Brinkies parried both attempts.

In the second round, too, the first degree belonged to the West Saxons. Juan Carrera Zarzar's (49') header just flew over the crossbar. As a result, both coaches made full use of their transfer quota. The game, which was not very attractive anyway, continued to gain rhythm. Shortly before the final whistle, Patrick Weihrauch (84th) had the equalizer on his feet again. However, the Joker was denied by Brinkies.
