The Local Government Board of Talavera de la Reina has approved the proposal for a Special Plan for Internal Reform and Improvement (Perim) in the equipment area of ​​the Hospital Nuestra Señora del Prado, thus taking the first step to develop the construction of new university buildings which will house the future Faculty of Health Sciences.

A project requested by the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) and intended for the installation of the new Faculty of Health Sciences. "Through this project, the UCLM is going to duplicate the spaces, the educational centers that it has in Talavera de la Reina", the municipal spokesperson Flora Bellón explained this Thursday during the press conference that she has offered on the agreements of the Board of Local Government.

According to the municipal spokesperson, the Perim contains a series of technical actions designed to define the space for the construction of this new faculty, as well as its technical specifications. "The surface area is 56,634 square meters," she specified.

The Local Government Board has also given the green light to the works contract for the enclosure project and enhancement of the archaeological remains of the walled enclosure of the Entretorres sector. It is a new phase that contemplates more than 140,000 euros to continue with consolidation works, which have passed through the Commission of the Special Plan of the Villa last March.

Likewise, in the field of heritage conservation, the municipal spokesperson has reported the certification of the contract for the consolidation and restoration works of the Islamic Wall and the recovery of the routes in the Corredera del Cristo.

On the other hand, the Government team has approved new reports on the project aimed at carrying out accessibility works in the Plaza Padre Juan de Mariana, for the adaptation and conditioning to improve accessibility and mobility, with the renovation of the pavement, replacement of furniture and green elements. The budget amounts to more than 270,000 euros.

The file for the contract for the supply of materials used in the irrigation networks of municipal green areas has also been approved, as well as the supply and planting of seasonal plants, trees, shrubs in green areas of direct municipal management during the years 2022 -2024. The amounts are 10,300 and 190,000 euros, respectively.

In addition, the transfer of use of the office in the Jiménez de Gregorio Civic and Cultural Center to the Association of Parkinson's Patients and Relatives of Castilla-La Mancha has been authorized.

In another order of things, the municipal spokesperson has reported the approval of the expense for the call for subsidies for the acquisition of textbooks and / or complementary material, for the academic year 2022-2023.

These are aids that students enrolled in the Second Cycle of Early Childhood Education in public and concerted centers in Talavera de la Reina can opt for. This call includes the bases that contain the scale for the award of aid, based on the requests and the specific economic or family circumstances of each case. The total amount of the grant is 42,000 euros and each grant will amount to 75 euros.

Flora Bellón has also reported the withdrawal of a group of municipal employees in their lawsuit before the Superior Court of Justice of Castilla-La Mancha (TSJCM) regarding the call for oppositions in the 2020 public employment offer.

«The employees demanded that these places had to come out through competition-opposition because they are positions of a continuous duration in the City Council, but they have desisted in their demand because, as you know, the offer of public employment for temporary employment stabilization", explained the municipal spokesperson. "This is the reason why they have given up their demand", she clarified.
