The arrival of a meteorological 'African beast' in Valencia has forced Aemet to issue a heat wave warning with temperatures that could reach a maximum of 43 degrees in some parts of the province. Given this situation, the Ministry of Health has activated the extreme heat alert for this Sunday in different areas of La Costera, La Safor de Gandía and La Marina Alta.
Likewise, for this Monday, June 13, the red level due to high temperatures will reach other regions such as L'Alcoià, La Marina Alta, La Safor and La Canal de Navarrés. For this reason, Health advises not to expose yourself in the hottest hours of the day, wear loose clothing, protect your head and avoid alcohol and copious meals.
According to the State Meteorological Agency, the generalized stability and strong insolation, together with the entry of a mass of warm air from North Africa, is causing "a significant rise in temperatures, minimum and maximum in much of the Peninsula" .
