Unknown persons tried to force open an ATM in a bank branch in Roßleben in the Kyffhäuser district on Monday night. Due to the suspicion of explosives, 28 people had to be evacuated from the surrounding buildings, the police said on Monday morning. For reasons that have not yet been clarified, the alleged perpetrators fled in a car before they could open the machine. Special forces from the State Criminal Police Office checked the crime scene for explosives and were finally able to give the all-clear.
