According to the police, a shop was attacked in Berlin-Schoeneberg on Monday evening. There is currently a larger operation, the police said at around 8.30 p.m. on Twitter. Special forces are also involved.

The area was cordoned off. A police spokesman said when asked that the closures affected the Kurfürstenstrasse/Kleiststrasse/Keithstrasse area. This is not far from Wittenbergplatz. The investigations at the site would be ongoing, further details are still unclear.

A second tweet published later in the evening said: "In order not to jeopardize the success of the mission, we will only provide you with further information once the mission has ended. Please understand." At around 11:00 p.m., the operation was still ongoing.
