They are somewhat reminiscent of small trees: the dark green, sometimes almost bluish shimmering flower buds of broccoli. They owe their color to the high chlorophyll content. In summer you can also find white, yellow, purple or almost black broccoli at weekly markets and in well-stocked vegetable shops.
