This 40 meter luxury yacht battles the waves off the southern Italian coast.

The yacht was on its way from Gallipoli to Milazzo: Nine miles from the port of Catanzaro Marina, the boat and its crew got into distress.

The Italian Coast Guard manages to bring the nine people on board to safety.

From the Coast Guard boat, the officials and those rescued follow the yacht slowly sinking.

The police are investigating how the boat crashed.
