Cycling. How the Galibier Challenge has already proven itself in two editions

Each experienced cyclist has dreamed or climbed the Col du Galibier. It reaches 2,642m. This year's program was again designed by Florian Blanc and Sebastien dzius from French Alpes Event, as well as the active forces.

Galibier Challenge is the first French high-mountain cyclosportive and offers the opportunity to climb a snow-covered pass," insist the organizers.

Last year, there were 370 competitors in the main race (85 in first and 285 second). Antoine Boudsocq, Grenoble Metropole Cyclisme 38, won the sprint in 3 minutes 02:35. Tim Alleman from Belgium finished second in 3h02'44, ahead of Frederic Glorieux (3h03’55).

Justine Dupenloup, Faverges, was the first woman to reach the top in 4h12’13. She finished ahead of Anne-Laure Fy (4h15') and Aline Guglielmi (4h26’41).

What will happen to them in 2022 when more than 550 people have registered? It is a very clever thing to say, especially when the two menus are so generous.

The two routes will remain the same to 2021, as we won't change any winning formula. The joint start will be given at 8:45 a.m. avenue de La Republique de Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne. The 110 km and 3,300 m D cyclosportive will take the riders to Orelle before descending to Saint-Martin-la-Porte then the Col de Beau Plan (1,420 m), descent to Saint-Michel and direction Saint -Martin-d'Arc, the Col du Telegraphe (1,566 m), Valloire and the climb to the Galibier. 35 terminals will be used to climb 2,100 m D, linking the Telegraph and Galibier.

This is a great challenge for bike enthusiasts to tackle in the heart and soul of a postcard setting.
