So far this year there have been three attempted or completed demolitions of ATMs in Saarland. This is half as many cases as in 2021 as a whole, said the state police headquarters in Saarbrücken when asked by the dpa. No cash was stolen from the crimes this year. There was damage to the affected ATMs, but not to the buildings, according to a police spokesman. Despite investigations, no suspects were arrested. There had also been three attacks on ATMs in 2020.
