Four people were slightly injured in a house fire in Karlsbad (Karlsruhe district). The police are not ruling out arson at this time. Residents had alerted the emergency services on Sunday morning because of a burning pile of bulky waste.

Police said the fire was already spreading to the home when officers arrived. The residents were able to get out of the building on their own, but four people suffered from mild smoke inhalation. The police are currently assuming that the heap of bulky waste was intentionally set on fire. The criminal police started an investigation.
