The German climber Yannick Flohé celebrated the best lead result of his career in the first World Cup after the European Championships. The 23-year-old from Essen won bronze on Saturday in Koper, Slovenia, only being beaten by local heroes Luka Potocar and Sascha Lehmann from Switzerland. Lead refers to classic lead climbing on a rope. The athletes try to climb a defined route in a given time without falling or to climb higher than the competition. Flohé finished sixth at the home European Championships in Munich.
