Rain, rain, rain: Those who live in northern Germany have not really seen the sun very often in the past few weeks. It was mostly wet and uncomfortable. In fact, January in Hamburg, for example, has been anything but dry with almost 65 liters per square meter so far and is only slightly below the comparable period from 1991 to 2020 in terms of precipitation. In Greifswald it even rained significantly more than the long-term average. That's not nice. But at least the drought in the soil after the record summer should now be eliminated. Or not?
