In a statement this Saturday, he detailed that the heat wave will last until Wednesday and will especially affect the Lleida regions of El Segrià, Pla d'Urgell and La Noguera.

Given this forecast, Civil Protection asks that municipalities enable cool places or rooms with air conditioning and that they especially monitor people over 75 without family support or without resources, as well as people with disabilities and chronic diseases.

Regarding the recommendations for citizens, remember the importance of staying hydrated and avoiding drinking alcohol and copious meals, as well as opting to play sports during the early hours of the morning or at night.

The Generalitat has activated the Civil Protection Plan of Catalonia (Procicat) before the forecasts of the Meteorological Service of Catalonia and "for the effects that are expected to be derived."
