Christian Lawyers file a complaint against the authors of the 'performance' before the Cathedral of Cuenca

The Spanish Foundation of Christian Lawyers has filed a complaint against the six people who, on May 16, made a 'performance' in front of several temples in the city of Cuenca, such as the Cathedral or the parish of the Virgen de la Luz.

As reported in a press release by the organization of jurists, one of the protesters apparently imitated the Virgin Mary using religious elements while five other people "posed on all fours half-naked with religious clothing and a ponytail between the buttocks." They were identified by agents of the National Police.

The organization of jurists points out three possible crimes against these facts: crime of incitement to hatred (art. 510 of the Penal Code), crime against religious sentiments (art.

525 of the CP) and the crime of illegal demonstration (art. 513 of the CP).

The president of Christian Lawyers, Poland Castellanos, points out that "this act, completely shameful and out of place, is a major insult to religious beliefs." "These ladies, who pose naked in front of our churches, all they want is cheap publicity at the cost of offending Christians."

Castellanos warns that "these actions represent gratuitous attacks on our religious beliefs and we will go as far as necessary so that these acts do not go unpunished."
