Chiemsee: A wristwatch as a new lead: the police are hoping for clues after the disco murder of Hanna W.

Eleven days after the murder of 23-year-old Hanna W. from Aschau im Cheimgau, the police are following a potentially promising lead - and are again turning to the public.

During the search measures of the past few days in the vicinity of where the body was found in Prien am Chiemsee and the disco near which the young woman disappeared, officers of the special commission (Soko) "Club" found a wristwatch (see photo above) that was in the case could play a role.

According to the information, it is a watch from the brand "Holzkern" with a round dial (diameter 4.4 centimeters). The case and link bracelet are therefore mostly made of wood. The Soko asks for answers to questions about this watch:

The watch was found in a stream next to the Kampenwaldbahn car park in Aschau, just 250 meters from the Eiskeller hip-hop club, where Hanna W. was last seen before her death.

As reported, the student was there on the night of October 2nd to 3rd at a party which she left around 2.30am. Twelve hours later, a passer-by found the woman's body around ten kilometers north in the Prien River. After the forensic examination, the police assumed it was a homicide and have been searching for the perpetrator since then without success.

60 investigators from the Soko are working under "high pressure" on the case, according to the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South. Among other things, several hundred visitors to the party in the "Eiskeller" should be questioned. The guests were also asked to make their photos and videos from the evening available to the police via an Internet upload portal. More than 300 files were received. The operational case analysis department, so-called profilers, from the state capital of Munich is also involved in the investigations.

Hanna W.'s act had caused great dismay and concern in the Chiemsee region and beyond. The woman's body was to be buried this Friday in her hometown of Aschau.

The Rosenheim Criminal Investigation Department takes tips on telephone number (08031) 2000. More photos of the wristwatch can be found here.
