The new children's aid supplement approved by the Government and that has come into force this year for beneficiaries of the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) includes a payment of between 50 and 100 euros for each dependent child from 6 to 18 years.

The amount varies depending on the age of the minor: 100 euros for children under 3 years old, 70 euros if the minors are between 3 and 6 years old and 50 euros for those between 6 and 18 years old.

This is the main novelty included in the Minimum Vital Income Law, published in the BOE on December 21, which includes a series of requirements. The income of the cohabitation unit cannot exceed 300% of the guaranteed income and 150% of the equity limit established for the IMV.

In addition, it must not exceed 6 times the guaranteed income of an adult, or the corresponding increase for the cohabitation unit as established in Annex III of Law 19/2021 (Test of assets).

Excluded from this payment are people who already collect the Minimum Vital Income or who have requested it and it is in process. Also those who already benefit from the family protection benefit and meet the requirements (financial allowance per dependent child or minor without disability or with a disability of less than 33 if the cohabitation unit has not changed).

To clear up doubts, the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) has enabled a simulator to check if you have the right to receive the IMV by answering a few simple questions.
