Cervezas Arriaca obtains the IFS Food international quality certification

Cervezas Arriaca has obtained the IFS Food quality certification for the marketing of its products and craft beers, a recognition obtained after a detailed and complete period of implementation and its subsequent evaluation.

This IFS Food Certificate will allow the Guadalajara craft brewer to "produce its own products and products for third parties with the maximum guarantees required at an international level", according to Jesús León, CEO of Cervezas Arriaca.

"It has been a great effort, in terms of time and resources, that we have used during the previous months to obtain this IFS certificate", acknowledges León, "which, if possible, gives us an extra guarantee and reliability when it comes to market our craft beer.

The recent concession of the IFS Food of Arriaca, in its version v7.0, establishes among its numerous requirements the obligation for the brewery to undergo an audit without prior notice at least every three years.

And it is that this rule prioritizes the on-site evaluation.

The food safety and quality management system, resource management, operational processes, as well as measurements, analysis and improvements will be important areas to be evaluated within the brewery in order to guarantee the IFS Food Certificate.

The International Featured Standards or IFS are standards aimed at food, products and services that, according to their standards, guarantee that certified companies offer a product, or provide a service, that meets customer specifications and work for continuous improvement of the processes.

Consistent in nature, its high-quality and safety standards provide transparency and comparability throughout the supply chain beyond primary production.

They also represent an important guarantee for distributors that have their own brands. According to the certifier itself, the primary objective of IFS is "to supply reliable products to cooperate in the supply chain in improving product integrity".

IFS was founded in 2003 under the name International Food Standard by the German Federation of Distributors -Handelsverband Deutschland (HDE)- and its French counterpart -Fédération des Entreprises du Commerce et de la Distribution (FCD)-.

They developed a common food safety and quality standard to enable a uniform approach to evaluation of food suppliers.

This was the first variant of the IFS Food standard, designed to certify suppliers that produce private label food products for distribution.

Since then, the organization has not stopped growing, to the point of expanding its offer with another six standards, no longer only aimed at food, which are present throughout the world.
