Mr. Lekutat, many of us would like to live healthier lives and are planning to change our lifestyle, especially at the start of the new year. Why do we so often fail at this?

Carsten Lekutat: I think it's human nature. When we are highly motivated to do something new or to leave something old, there is almost nothing that can stop us. We often take on too much at once. Actually, motivation is a good thing, but it is far from enough to permanently change our behavior. Because motivation comes and goes. What remains is often a stale aftertaste that we haven't managed to do what we intended to do yet again.
