Carriedo asks for "sufficient generosity" to reach an agreement that "guarantees the future" of Siro

The Junta de Castilla y León insists on calling for an agreement between workers, investors and the company that guarantees "the future" of the Siro group in the Community. Through the mouth of its spokesman, Carlos Fernández Carriedo, this Thursday he asked for "sufficient generosity" from the parties so that a competitiveness plan can be carried out that guarantees the continuity of the food company in the region.

And it is that the company, which accumulates a debt of around 300 million euros, has warned that without the agreement it will not be possible for an investment partner to inject the necessary amount to refloat the group, which this week has announced, as part of that viability plan, the closure of the biscuit plant it has in Venta de Baños (Palencia).

"The company is not asking for financial aid, which we have already provided on other occasions and at very high levels," said Carriedo, but rather requests "collaboration" so that there is an agreement between the parties involved so that it can "sustain » employment through said competitiveness plan. In this sense, he has indicated that it would be "positive" for this pact to take place because it is "basic" so that the activity can continue.

In fact, he has stated that he is "convinced" that if the pact is reached, "the future and employment" will be guaranteed, but if not, he has indicated, "it carries a risk."
