"I am grateful for the support and trust of the citizens of Châteauguay and I would like to take this opportunity to thank from the bottom of my heart the riding team who accompanied me in this mandate," declared Ms. Chassé, by press release.

Also parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Economy and Innovation, MarieChantal Chassé did not miss the opportunity to thank François Legault. She also underlined her pride in having contributed to the establishment of the Quebec Strategy for Research and Investment in Innovation 2022-2027.

“Moving from the world of entrepreneurship to active politics was a professional challenge that I took up with openness, enthusiasm and conviction; I take away meaningful lessons from it, ”she said.

“I thank MarieChantal for her commitment to Quebec during her four years as MNA for Châteauguay. Her passion and know-how, as a businesswoman, will have directly contributed to the advancement of our priorities,” said Premier François Legault.

A tumultuous political journey

Recall that MarieChantal Chassé was dismissed from her post as Minister of the Environment in 2018.

In an interview with TVA Nouvelles the following year, she admitted that she lacked political experience. “I found myself at the head of the environment, with no experience in the environment and no experience in politics. I was probably easy prey,” she conceded.
