BARCELONA, 19 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -
CaixaBank presented its new 2022-2024 strategic plan this Thursday at its 2022 Annual Executive Convention, before more than 2,000 professionals from the entity, it has reported in a statement.
The event took place at the Barcelona International Convention Center and was chaired by CaixaBank President José Ignacio Goirigolzarri and its CEO, Gonzalo Gortázar.
The entity released this roadmap on Tuesday, with which it expects to achieve a return of more than 12% and an efficiency ratio of 48% in 2024, as well as an 8% increase in its interest margin and the generation of around 9,000 million euros of capital.
It aspires to raise its income at a rate of 7% between 2022 and 2024, driven by insurance activity (10%) and the moderate evolution of commissions (2%), so that the interest margin rises by 8% supported in the new interest rate environment.
Goirigolzarri has argued that the strategic plan is the bank's response to the "very fast and tremendously disruptive change" that is taking place in society and in the financial sector.
He predicted that in 2024 the entity will have established leadership in the banking, insurance and asset management fields and has advocated moving towards "a distribution model adapted to customer preferences".
For his part, Gortázar highlighted the fact that CaixaBank has set itself the goal of obtaining a return of more than 12% by 2024, which will mean "a very great effort to pass the efficiency ratio of 58% to below 48%. %".
"We have greater financial strength than ever, a healthy and recurring business, and the integration has been completed, with which we have to be really very satisfied and very confident to face the future because we are at an absolutely enviable starting point," he said.
