Burglary: Museum postpones reopening after gold theft

After a gold treasure was stolen, the Celtic Roman Museum in Manching, Upper Bavaria, has postponed its reopening. This was announced by the house on Tuesday evening. The reopening was originally planned for Wednesday. A new date has not yet been set.

The decision was made in the special purpose association, which is responsible for the museum. Before reopening, "further coordination between the museum, its sponsors, the Archaeological State Collection and other bodies would have to take place," the museum said.

Last week, a hoard of gold weighing several kilos, consisting mainly of coins, was stolen during a burglary in the museum.
