The fact that I have such close contact with the natural sciences is certainly also due to my mother and father. Both are professors of molecular biotechnology. I remember my mother encouraging me to go to a professor's inaugural lecture, she said the lecture wasn't that difficult to understand. It was about bacteria in permafrost soil, which can live there despite the extreme cold and have adapted. I found that fascinating.

When I had the chance to carry out experiments for my project in the seventh grade, I immediately investigated how different temperatures affect the growth of bacteria. I had so much fun doing that.
