A fire ravaged a residential building in Boucherville on Wednesday evening, leaving at least 6 people out of their homes.

The blaze broke out around 6:30 p.m. in the roof of the building located on rue du Puits. Despite the spread of the fire, all residents seem to have evacuated their homes in time, said Alain Lachance, division chief at the Longueuil agglomeration fire safety service (SSIAL).

Several hours after the outbreak, firefighters were still in control of the fire.
