Manager Charlie Montoyo's club lost their three-game streak 2-1 to Florida. In those duels, the Jays only scored seven points. They also failed in their attempt to win a series for the fourth time in as many meetings.

In today's matchup, the Blue Jays were limited to just five strikes from the safe. Rays starter Jeffrey Springs allowed four of those in four and two-thirds innings. He also passed two rivals in the mitt. The win, however, went to Matt Wisler's record (2-1), while Andrew Kittredge recorded his fifth save of the campaign.

On the mound for Canada's only major baseball team, Alek Manoah (4-1) suffered his first loss of the season. In six innings, he allowed three runs on five hits and struck out four Rays batters.

It was in the sixth inning that the crowd favorites scored all their runs. An error by Matt Chapman first allowed Brandon Lowe to step on the plate. Manoah then missed one of his shots and Wander Franco took the opportunity to complete his lap of the trails. Eventually, Ji-Man Choi hit a single that sent Harold Ramirez home.

In addition, outfielder George Springer has returned to action for the Queen City club. The veteran had been forced to miss his last game after spraining an ankle on Friday. In four at-bats, the one who was used as the designated hitter was unable to get a single hit.

The Blue Jays will return to action on Monday, while the Seattle Mariners and Quebec's Abraham Toro will be at Rogers Center for the first of a three-game series.
