Agents of the National Police have arrested 15 people in the Valencian Community (seven in the province of Alicante and nine in Valencia) and another in Pontevedra as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of anabolic drug trafficking, money laundering and criminal organization , who formed an organization dedicated to the trafficking of these substances and steroids, sometimes hidden by sports nutrition stores and gyms.

Those arrested introduced the substance mainly from Bulgaria and, later, distributed it through Spain, France, Italy and the United States, according to the Police in a statement. In the records made, 255,699 doses of illegal drugs have been intervened.

The investigations began in March of last year when the agents began to observe that different distributors acquired, through parcels, prohibited substances used for personal training.

In addition, they found out that the sender's name and population changed periodically, as well as the logistics company through which they made the shipments.

During the investigations, two storage and shipment preparation warehouses and three large-scale distributors located in the towns of Gandia (Valencia), Calpe and Benidorm (Alicante) were located, which used Bulgarian names to make shipments.

In addition, the agents discovered that, to introduce anabolic steroids into Spain from Bulgaria, they used 'straw men' as recipients, in exchange for money that varied according to the kilos of the packages, many of them approximately 25 kg. Once the shipments were received, another member of the organization was responsible for the distribution to the people who had the warehouses where they prepared the prohibited substances for their subsequent distribution to customers.

The arrest operation has been carried out in two phases. In the first, the agents have arrested six people, the "most visible", who were in charge of receiving parcels from Bulgaria, storage and preparation of shipments to customers. Subsequently, they have arrested ten people, managers of the organization and clients who received large quantities of medicines to distribute them in nutrition stores or gyms.

Likewise, four home searches and five inspections have been carried out in gyms in different towns of the Valencian Community, in which 255,699 doses of illegal medicines have been intervened, for a value of almost 10,000 euros, three grams of, apparently, cocaine, 20 grams of marijuana and six mobile phones.

The organization had more than 200 clients of these doping substances distributed throughout Spain, as well as France, Italy and the United States. The agents have come to intervene parcel shipments from Bulgaria, which contained 1,200 boxes of illegal medicines. The detainees, all with a police record except for two, have gone to court.
