This story caused a stir on social media this week when it was revealed by the young woman's sister, Camille Johnson, a popular YouTuber.

“My little sister faced a serious health issue recently and when she managed to see a doctor they charged her $40 for crying,” she commented.

In the photo, the amount can be seen in front of the line “brief moment of emotion”

In a series of posts, Ms Johnson said her sister was suffering from a 'rare' illness and had been overcome with emotion as she felt helpless.

“One tear and they charge you $40. Without even caring about why she was crying or comforting her.

This emotional moment cost him more than his eye exam and blood test.

This kind of “state” is part of a grid used by some doctors to assess the psychology of their patients.

Camille Johnson told The Independent daily that her sister had never been assessed this way during her appointment.

“They did not evaluate her for depression. They didn't even discuss mental health with her. She was not referred to any other doctors, received no prescriptions.”

Many netizens have responded to Ms Johnson's messages with their own sometimes outrageous bill.

So, a woman received a bill for $2,000 for "women's care", which in this case was a pregnancy test.

“1902 dollars for me to pee and they put a test in it,” she joked.
