Shortly before the first anniversary of the Russian attack on Ukraine, US director Sean Penn presented his film "Superpower" in a world premiere at the Berlinale.

The documentary was originally planned as a portrait of former actor and current President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Russian invasion fell on February 24, 2022.

Penn and fellow director Aaron Kaufman witnessed the attacks on Kiev. Despite the war, Zelenskyy gave them a series of interviews, starting from the night of the attack. According to Penn, he sees himself as a kind of ambassador for the country under attack.
