Beauty trick: pimple patches against skin impurities: That's what's behind it

The word "patch" comes from English and simply means "plaster". There are different sizes for the targeted treatment of smaller and larger pimples. They are glued directly over the burgeoning inflammation and (according to the manufacturer) are supposed to absorb skin impurities and thus ensure a mild course. In addition, the pimple patches should prevent you from squeezing around the affected area - this protects the wound from bacteria. And that's not all of the advantages.

So-called hydrocolloids have long been used in medicine - in the form of wound dressings to accelerate healing. For the same reason, many pimple patches use hydrocolloid bandages, which absorb impurities (especially pus) and are supposed to relieve inflammation. Wound healing is accelerated accordingly. It is therefore also important to choose the right size for each treatment so that the pimple is covered but the rest of the skin can continue to breathe. Another advantage is that the transparent patches are hardly visible and can be used at any time during the day - even when you are out and about. Isolated pimples are treated selectively, gently and quickly without drying out the skin. In addition, acne scars should be counteracted by the use of pimple patches.

Important note: Most products do not contain sulfates or parabens, alcohol or perfume. However, the pimple patches can cause skin irritation if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Read them carefully before applying.

Before sticking the plaster on the (coming) pimple, you should consider the following steps:

And another note: pimple patches are suitable for all skin types. However, since they can also absorb excess sebum, those who tend to have oily or impure skin should benefit most from the treatment. However, if you suffer from hormonal acne, it is not advisable to use it.
