The 59-year-old is said to have killed three relatives in the district town of Weilheim on Friday and then took his own life.

According to dpa information, the dead are twin sisters and their husbands. According to the police's previous findings, the suspect first killed the women (57) and then the 60-year-old man.

For reasons of privacy protection, the investigators were initially unable to find out anything about the exact relationship between the dead. They only said they were related. The police officers also did not say who lived where with whom and whether the dead had children.

According to investigators, the sisters died of "massive injuries" in the house of the alleged perpetrator - how exactly is not yet known. The men suffered gunshot wounds. The actual causes of death are to be clarified on Monday during the autopsies of the bodies.

City pastor Engelbert Birkle from the Catholic parish community Weilheim wants to commemorate the dead on Sunday in a service. "We take up something like that in the services as part of an intercession," he told the German Press Agency. According to him, it is unclear whether the victims were members of the Protestant or Catholic Church.
