The 19th "Provinziale" film festival in Eberswalde (Barnim district) ended on Saturday with the awards ceremony. With around 1,500 visitors, the organizers said that a larger audience had been reached compared to the past two Corona years. The festival had hoped for this number, before Corona around 2000 visitors were usual. For a week, the "provinziale" showed documentaries, animations and short films about life in the countryside.
Three of the audience awards are endowed with 2,000 euros each, the long documentary award with 4,000 euros. The jury prize "Der Stachel" for the most successful discussion of the topic of sustainability went to "Carné·e·s" by Léo Deschénes from France.
