Barcelona wins a new 360º viewpoint at 125 meters in Glòries

Starting this week, Barcelona has a new space to contemplate the most iconic places in the city from above. Located in the mythical Torre Glòries, the new viewpoint will offer attendees a combination of art, science and technology with the best views. The installation opens to the public this Friday, May 20, as a double experience that begins on the -1 floor and ends on the 30th floor, where the panoramic view of the city is intertwined with the work of Tomás Saraceno.

This viewpoint is designed to become an iconic place in the city and aims to be different from its category. This is recognized by Aleix Pratdepàdua, director of the space, who highlights the uniqueness of the project: «It is much more than a viewpoint and is destined to be a new cultural and discovery space for the city of Barcelona.

A unique, unprecedented project that transcends the conventional viewpoint model». This construction comes out of an initiative between Merlin Properties and Mediapro Exhibitions with the aim of becoming a local and international reference. In addition, "it is a project made in Barcelona," says Pratdepàdua.

The visit begins at the Barcelona Hyperviewpoint, located on floor -1, a space designed to discover the Barcelona that goes unnoticed, where art, science and technology come together in the five environments that make up this part of the visit: Prologue , Barceloneses, Atmospheres, Rhythms and Sirena.

Through big data, data on the city is offered in real time that is combined with images and music, all presided over by an exhibition of paper sculptures on the environmental biodiversity of the Catalan capital. Several of the information offered deal with the live state of the city, such as the wind, the number of flights operating at that time, the number of arrivals and departures of ships from the port or the pollution generated by transport.

The appointment with the viewpoint continues on the 30th floor, the last of the tower, located 125 meters high and with a 360 degree perspective. From this point you can see some of the most famous areas of the city: the Hotel W, the Sant Adrià del Besòs thermal power plant, the Sagrada Familia, the 22 @, the Meridiana or the Gran Vía de les Corts Catalanes, between others.

In the dome of this same floor you can see 'Cloud Cities Barcelona', a multisensory work of art by the contemporary artist Tomás Saracero, a space that plays with perspective and crystals with a structure between four and ten meters high that visitors they can tour.

The price to enjoy the viewpoint is from 15 euros for adults, with different offers of reduced prices depending on age or type of family. In addition, different experiences are offered that allow visiting the installation in the morning, at night, with the explanation of an architect or with the accompaniment of Tomás Saracero. As for the schedule, it is open from Monday to Sunday between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. from April 1 to October 31 and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. between November 1 and March 31.
