After two years of the Corona crisis, Messe Hamburg posted the second-highest turnover in its company history last year, but still lost millions. A total of 108.7 million euros were implemented last year, almost twelve million euros more than planned, said managing director Uwe Fischer on Thursday. Due to rising costs for services and hygiene measures, but also investments and modernization, a minus of 15.2 million euros was accumulated. This year, Hamburg Messe expects sales of 73.1 million euros. For an odd year, this is the highest turnover in history. Nevertheless, the trade fair is also assuming a negative annual result in 2023.
