Bahn reinforced protection of rail network after cable attack

Targeted sabotage of Deutsche Bahn's cable network in October led to failures of the digital train radio system and paralyzed rail traffic in large parts of northern Germany. The Attorney General has taken over the investigation.

Because of the cable sabotage, the railways had to stop all long-distance traffic in Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein for around three hours, as well as large parts of the regional traffic. Even after the resumption of traffic, there were initially long delays.
