A prominent cast access for "Avatar 3" is officially confirmed. While the previous film "Avatar: The Way of Water" is still running successfully in cinemas worldwide, producer Jon Landau (62) has now confirmed in an interview with "Empire" that Charlie Chaplin's (1889-1977) granddaughter Oona Chaplin (36) will embody a Na'vi character named Varang in "Avatar 3", scheduled for December 2024. Chaplin is known, among other things, from the HBO megaseries "Game of Thrones", in which she played Talisa Maegyr, who later became the wife of the main character Robb Stark (Richard Madden, 36).

"Avatar 3" will introduce a hostile, destructive tribe of Na'vi for the first time, the "Ash People". Producer Landau describes these inhabitants of the moon Pandora as "an aggressive, Vulcan group" led by Chaplin's character Varang. Like humans, there would be good and bad individuals among the Na'vi, continued Oscar winner Landau. In addition, they often don't see themselves as bad at all, which is supposed to be the subject of "Avatar 3".

For "Avatar 4", which is scheduled to start in cinemas in December 2026, Landau also promised "a big leap in time". "Avatar 5", which according to the current status should be the conclusion of the saga, is planned for December 2028 and will partly play on Earth. In particular, Jake Sully's (Sam Worthington, 46) Na'vi wife Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) will then travel to Earth, as Landau revealed in an earlier interview with "Gizmodo".

In the new interview with "Empire", Landau elaborated on this aspect of the fifth "Avatar" part. According to this, the future, dying earth would suffer from "overpopulation and a depletion of natural resources" that would "make life more difficult". But producer Landau emphasized that the film series would still convey a positive message: "We don't want to paint a gloomy picture of how our world is developing. The ['Avatar'] films are also about the idea that we can change course ".
