Austria: Teachers in Graz are said to have paid students for nude photos

In the Austrian city of Graz, a high school teacher is said to have paid his students for nude photos, as reported by the Austrian media. The Kronenzeitung first reported on the case, the public prosecutor's office in Graz confirmed investigations against the teacher on suspicion of possession of child pornography. In doing so, she followed the instructions of the Styrian Education Directorate. The principal of the school had filed a complaint against the teacher.

Several male, underage students had previously told their guidance counselor that they had sent the religion teacher nude photos of themselves via the social media app Snapchat. The teacher paid them money for this. Photos only last a few seconds on Snapchat before they delete themselves.

According to media reports, it is not yet clear how many students could be affected. Data carriers that were confiscated during a search of his house last week are currently being examined. The teacher was suspended, but the presumption of innocence applies.
