The shadow of the recent massacre in Uvalde (Texas) hangs over the United States again. At least three people have died and eleven others have been injured in a shooting under investigation that occurred in one of the best-known areas of bars and restaurants in the American city of Philadelphia late on Saturday.

The incident, as reported by Ep, began around 11:30 p.m. between Second and South streets, crowded by hundreds of people who were finishing dinner.

Police have not released the identities of the shooting victims, only reporting that two of the dead are a 25-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man.

The condition of the injured, seven of whom have been taken to Jefferson Hospital, is also unknown.

Police sources have confirmed to the local newspaper 'Inquirer' that the shooting involved "several individuals", one of whom was shot by the Police while fleeing.

The investigation continues and authorities are expected to retrieve surveillance camera footage of nearby businesses on Sunday that were closed at the time of the shooting.
