Arganda del Rey will convert 55,000 tons of waste per year into fuel and aluminum

Madrid landfills will save 55,000 tons of garbage per year. The Campillo center in the municipality of Arganda del Rey has installed two new waste processing lines to treat and reuse waste from mechanical and mechanical recycling. the plant will obtain fuel and aluminum that will have a new life in cement, ceramics and foundries.

The manufacturing line for Residue Derived Fuels (CDR) will specifically provide an energy recovery of more than 30,000 tons per year, with high calorific value for fuels from cement and ceramics, producing renewable energy. The other processing line will recover approximately 25,000 tons of aluminum per year, which will be transferred to different smelters.

In this way, it is avoided taking some 55,000 tons, 30,000 of rejection and 25,000 of aluminum, to the landfills of the Community of Madrid, "which is presented as a notable improvement in the environment" and "in line with the claims of the new Waste Law in order to the circular economy, "reports the center's statement.

Every year the Campillo center treats almost 250,000 tons of plastics and another 100,000 tons of rest, scrap, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, cans, aluminium, copper, paper, cardboard and glass from the different plants and from Ecoembes. The plant has adequate means for recycling, treatment and recovery of waste, own transport authorized by the Community, waste managers, machinery and container manufacturing, collections and events.

They have the Integrated Environment Authorization and ISO 1001 Quality and ISO 14001 Environment qualifications. The group of family-owned companies, founded by Félix Martín, has been in the sector for more than 50 years and currently has five work centres.
