The president of the International Paralympic Committee (CPE), the Brazilian Andrew Parsons, will visit Spain this Tuesday and Wednesday, May 17 and 18, in which he will hold several meetings with Spanish sports authorities.

Parsons will meet with his counterpart from the CPE, Miguel Carballeda; the head of the Higher Sports Council, José Manuel Franco; and with leaders of the Spanish Paralympic sports federations, in addition to holding a meeting with athletes at the High Performance Center in Madrid.

The visit will begin on Tuesday 17 in the morning with a meeting with the management of the CPE headed by its highest representative and will later hold a meeting with José Manuel Franco and hold a lunch with a group of Paralympic athletes at the Blume Residence of the CAR in Madrid, whose facilities, in which Olympic and Paralympic athletes coexist in an inclusive manner, will also be visited by the president of the CPI.

In the afternoon and morning of Wednesday, Parsons will hold meetings with the presidents and heads of the Spanish federations of Paralympic disciplines, both the specific federations of sports for people with disabilities and those that have already included these athletes within their organizations.

In the conversation agenda throughout this agenda, is the strategic plan of the CPI, the processes of integration of sports of people with disabilities in international federations.

In addition, they will deal with matters related to the classification of disability in Paralympic sports or with the organization's worldwide sponsorships, the possible inclusion of tests for athletes with Down syndrome in the Paralympic Games or aspects related to the next Paris 2024 Games or about the Mediterranean Games.
