Thirty years have passed since the Barcelona Olympic Games, the event that turned the city into the world capital of sport. An event that brought countless changes to the city, not only in sports and leisure, but also at a social and urban level. To celebrate this anniversary, Casa Seat has inaugurated an exhibition on Tuesday that pays tribute to the event and will be open to the public until August 6.

Claudia Crego, curator of the exhibition, has claimed the value of the Barcelona 92 ​​Games. "This exhibition aims to be a free look at an event that marked a before and after in this city." Likewise, Crego has pointed out that this exhibition wants to provide "a fresh and new look, without being exhaustive and academic, since what it seeks to offer is a vision from the point of view of the citizen".

On the ground floor, there is a historical overview of Barcelona's candidacy for the Olympic Games, with architectural elements that were inaugurated with the event and ended up becoming new icons of the city. In this area there is a replica of Cobi, mascot of the Barcelona Olympic Games, mounted on a bull and restored for the occasion. In addition to a stadium built to scale with historical photographs of the event, a replica of a podium or the waves that symbolize the sea of ​​the inaugural show 'Mediterrani, mar olímpic' by La Fura dels Baus.

Floor one is dedicated to the urban transformation of the city, which can be seen with a timelapse video of the construction of the city's roundabouts, among other works. In addition, you can find an electric Seat Toledo, the official vehicle of the games, in a commitment made in favor of sustainable development. The space dedicated to women, inclusive mobility and LGBT diversity is also essential.

Finally, on the minus one floor, the volunteers and the popular support that the event had took center stage. It is a tribute to the people who contributed to making the sporting event a success. As part of the footprint left by the citizens, in this space you can see showcases with collectibles donated by volunteers or a collection of Barcelona 92 ​​posters.

In addition, throughout the weeks that the exhibition lasts, it is planned that several colloquiums will be organized where some of the protagonists of this historic date will be invited.
