The epicenter has been registered in the Alboran Sea, but it has been strongly felt in different parts of Malaga capital and province. The earth has trembled this noon for a few seconds due to an earthquake, which originated at 2:35 p.m. (local time) according to data from the National Geological Institute (IGN).

The magnitude of the seismic movement has been 5 (initially it was pointed at 4.7) and at a depth of only eight kilometers. It was the continuation of the earthquake recorded in the same area an hour earlier, at 1:35 p.m., and at a depth of five kilometers. Later, at 2:46 p.m., a new aftershock was recorded in the same area, again at a depth of five kilometers.
