In response to the numerous shootings that have occurred in recent days on its territory, the Laval police carried out a major police operation on Thursday which has so far led to an arrest.

According to the authorities, the arrested individual is “potentially linked” to the recent shooting events that took place in the Chomedey district.

Two searches were also underway on Laval soil, as well as in Terrebonne.

Since Sunday, in Laval, three shootings have taken place in the Chomedey sector.

Very early on Sunday, a 28-year-old man who was driving his vehicle was shot and killed, while a 14-year-old boy was injured.

The next day, at least a 15-year-old teenager miraculously avoided the dozen shots fired in his direction by two suspects, on the grounds of a low-rent housing complex.

Finally, on Tuesday afternoon, an individual received a projectile from a firearm in the foot after being targeted by shots fired from a moving vehicle, on rue Normandin, in the middle of a residential area.

Two 11-year-old girls who were playing nearby witnessed the scene and were traumatized by this violent event.
